Kerensa D'Arcy Barr is an artist based in North County Wicklow. Kerensa spent almost 15 years living, working and developing her passion for art overseas, before returning to Ireland in 1998.

She has lived in America, Australia, Kenya and Indonesia, and has been influenced by the rich and diverse cultures she has encountered in developing her own approach and distinctive style. Her landscapes reveal something of her fascination for the sensuality of trees in a forest domain with pathways leading to unknown destinations, metaphors for her own journeys – some taken, some imagined.

Her colourful and distinctive works are a stylized reflection of the scenery she encounters daily, living in the Garden of Ireland.

Kerensa was a member of the Cherry Lane Art Group for several years, studying oils for 3 years under the tutelage of Jenny McCann. For the past 7 years she has studied life drawing, under the tutelage of Niamh Harding-Millar.

Her work has been exhibited at Art Ireland in the RDS, The Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray, The Signal Arts Centre in Bray, The Brooke Lodge Hotel, Co. Wicklow and the Cherry Lane group exhibition in Delgany.

Her first solo exhibition was held in the Dalkey Castle Heritage Centre in 2009, and represented a major step in her development as an artist.

Kerensa's work can be viewed every Sunday in Merrion Square.
